Monthly Sabbath Fast

Each month we invite everyone connected to our ministry here at New Beginnings to join us in a time of prayer and fasting on the first Sabbath of the month.
According to the traditional Jewish calendar the Sabbath begins at sunset on Friday and ends at sunset Saturday. Each month therefore we set aside the first Saturday of the month, starting at sundown on the day before, to focus our hearts and our minds in cooperative prayer and fasting for an agreed upon set of priorities. During this time we open the doors of our sanctuary for the entire day Saturday to encourage all who are able to come and spend a few moments at the altar lifting up the prayer needs of our fellowship and joining with us in agreement in prayer.
Each month's prayer focus is different, conforming to the needs of our moment and the direction of our Lord but each time of fasting and prayer culminates in an evening service where we celebrate what God is doing in our midst and break our fast together with a family meal in the fellowship hall.
