Shawn Crowley

C:\Users\Shawn\Pictures\Shawn.jpgShawn Crowley is founder and President of Proactive Transitions, Incorporated and an assisting Foursquare minister at River Crest Church in Daytona Beach, Florida. As a child, Shawn had a severe speech and coordination problem. A doctor misdiagnosed him, stating that he was mentally retarded and would never lead a normal life”. God used the battle to overcome the stigma of being labeled handicapped, combined with having his life positively altered during the integration of the Daytona Beach Public Schools and childhood relationships that shaped his future ministry to come. It was through these experiences and relationships that God developed in Shawn an evangelistic heart towards inner city ministry, especially to the poor, the disabled, and the outcast.

Mr. Crowley has been in the social service field since 1993, and has been involved in many informal and formal inner city related ministries including a summer outreach workshop hosted by David Wilkerson’s Time Square Church; Fire Ministries; the Main Street Mission; North-side Church of Atlanta; and Oasis ministries with Metro Life Church.

For the past 5 years Shawn, through Proactive Transitions, has been actively proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to the poor and disabled in the Daytona Beach Area. PTI has partnered with local churches including River Crest Church to reach out to local housing projects through evangelistic outreaches, emergency intervention, and food distribution. PTI also assists disabled individuals to seek, obtain, and retain employment in the community.

Shawn and his wife, Donna, are Assisting Foursquare Ministers at River Crest Church. In his 2 years at the church he has helped open up evangelistic opportunities, led a singles group, and a conducted a weekly meeting at a HUD-operated apartment complex. Currently he is working on developing street witnessing, visitation, greeting and ushering ministries in the church, as well as partnering with another local church to operate a food pantry. He is currently working on developing an evangelistic training course.

Prior to coming to River Crest, Shawn was a care group leader for many years at Sovereign Grace Church and was a member there for over 20years.
